Our Correspondent Imphal, Aug. 5 (EMN): The second session of the 12th Manipur Assembly after having 11 days of sitting was adjourned sine die on Friday. The assembly which commenced on July 25 with obituary references made on the demise of former MLA Y Thambal Singh (Kakching Constituency) and on the loss of lives due to landslides at Marangching area in Noney district in the intervening night of June 29 and 30 and another landslide in Pherzawl district July 8 witnessed as many as 110 starred and 36 unstarred questions apart from 6 call attention motions. Altogether, 14 government bills were passed while 12 papers were laid. Besides that, election of three financial committee was also held. On the concluding of the session on Friday, the assembly passed a private members’ resolution to establish the population commission of the state and also to introduce and enforce NRC (National Register of Citizens). The Manipur Congress party vice president said that the committee had already unanimously resolved not to issue ticket application form to those former Congress MLAs who had defected from the Congress party by violating the 10th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
