You probably noticed the cooling yesterday with the onshore flow and with the low clouds and fog this morning, the deck of clouds is taller so we dont have the dense fog. Coastal areas will be in for a little bit of a cool down, which is nice to see at least relieved somewhere. Looking at san jose, youre going to be up to 88 degrees for your high today. So just as warm as yesterday was under those sunshiny skies, we are seeing much more relaxed winds this morning. Actually quite calm. This is allowing a little bit of cool coastal air to slip in along the coastline, which is having a nice moderating impact as youre stepping outside this morning, you may think to yourself it actually feels kind nice and cool out here. On this thursday, may 10th. Beautiful. It was gorgeous. People were tanning. They were enjoying the sun. It was the warmest day since last october and will continue to hang on to that heat today. Heres a live look outside from the exploratorium camera. We are clear here. We have the faintest marine layer right now around Half Moon Bay, a little bit around the Golden Gate Bridge, and that will lead to a little bit of Coastal Cooling today, but we are going to warm up inland even hotter than yesterday temperatures. Right now we dont have that offshore wind, so were not as warm as we were yesterday. Were in the 40s and mid 50s right now. And again, that wind. Remember yesterday morning it was gusting 20 to 40mph. That is now gone. And we have light winds to begin our friday. So the day looks like this. It is bright. We
Second vote by the port commission, which happened today. So why the name change . The port says the main reason is location. The port says theres a lack of geographic awareness about oakland and its creating challenges. As they argue, oakland should be serving the top 20 markets, but its not. And that Research Shows the name change could attract more passengers by letting them know that oakland is another gateway to the bay area, and a name can change, can certainly do that. That brings the knowledge for people past the mississippi to really understand where oakland sits in the greater bay area and also internationally, really of other understanding from people from around the world of where oakland is in this greater bay area. Meanwhile, the city of San Francisco has filed a lawsuit. It claims the name change infringes on the San Francisco International Airport trademark.
