The event, sponsored by the Norwich Area Veterans Council and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter No. 270, will be held rain or shine and is open to the public. Mask-wearing and social distancing are required. Paul Salisbury of Plainfield will sing the national anthem, and U.S. Navy veteran and past-NAVC President John Waggoner will serve as the master of ceremonies. Waggoner will present a retrospective of the turbulent time in U.S. history when welcome home and thanks for your service were unknown expressions to those who had served. ....

Over the 11 consecutive months concluding in April 2020, predictions ran silently in the background as adult patients were seen at VUMC. The algorithm, dubbed the Vanderbilt Suicide Attempt and Ideation Likelihood (VSAIL) model, uses routine information from electronic health records (EHRs) to calculate 30-day risk of return visits for suicide attempt, and, by extension, suicidal ideation. ....
March 9, 2021 Delbert “Del” E. Harris, age 87, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, passed away Thursday morning, March 4, 2021, at his home in the loving care of his wife and daughter. He was born January 19, 1934, in Lincoln, Illinois, the son of Herman and Pearl (Thomason) Harris. Del and Mary Ann Vaughn were married July 9, 1967, after a whirlwind romance which ensued after a set-up by Ray and Dolores Harris (Del’s brother, married to Mary Ann’s sister) along with other events that kept bringing them together. They quickly fell in love and shared 53 wonderful wedding anniversaries together. They lived in St. Louis, Missouri for 50 years before moving to the slower life of the country. ....
Darci L. Bevington, 43, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:05 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020. She was born March 1, 1977, in Kokomo, to Milton D. and Patricia Ann (Mennen) Bevington. Darci graduated from Western High School where she played the oboe and clarinet in the band, performed with the color guard, and sang in the choir. She also worked at McDonaldâs during high school and was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kokomo. Due to her disabilities following an accident, she had been a resident of Kokomo Healthcare since 1995. For seventeen years, Darci lived life to the fullest, but for the last 26 ½ years, Darci lived with limited movement and was unable to communicate verbally due to a car accident, followed by a brain bleed and stroke five months later. Darci had quite a few volunteers who gave her range of motion exercising and friendship every other week on a rotating basis, and we found that to be a beautiful and meani ....
