The substance, and they just think it is about trying to get this guy, because he is the person who people are the most afraid of. and that makes them want to support him more. right. so just the indictment you are talking about is the alvin bragg indictment here in manhattan for the hush money payments that the dea alleges were unlawful. that s right. do you think that extends to everything? and maybe the answer is yes. but in this case, you have a woman who there is no dea who brought this case. so there is not some big bad democrat who is out to get him. this woman brings this case and then look, they had a civil trial. she swore under oath. they had the witnesses. the jury found that he sexually abused her. those details matter? here s the thing. we asked the group last week about this case. and they did not know anything about it. there was only one person in the focus group who had even heard about it. yes.
A sex abuser. claimed all along that she had been raped by donald trump. that s what this case was all about. that s the shrug for me. trump will be appealing the decision and while today brought an end to this eight-day trial, the verdict finding trump liable for battery and defamation took years of litigation on behalf of e. jean carroll. came carroll forward in 2019 after being inspired by the me too movement. she told her story, knowing full well, she was accusing the president of the united states, the most powerful man in the world of, sexual assault she sudan trump november 2019 in a lengthy gleeful legal battle shielded trump from lawsuit when as he was president when he made those remarks. finally e. jean carroll got her day in court, after trump, once again, defamed her, in october when he was no longer president. she filed a second lawsuit which went to trial. she initiated all of that. i think it s worth taking a step back to acknowledge this incredible active real
Party that gives cover to folks who pray upon women. i think that part of our narrative as a country is to be who are the real criminals, who are the real predators, and our women safe in a world where republican folks are allowed to lead? we know, i think that those of us who are liberal minded have a clear answer to that. but for those who are still reckoning, we have a 79 year old woman who was traumatized by this that she sat in the court of law, faced public ridicule to say simply, i am telling the truth. that is powerful. one of the really interesting things is that this case could not have been brought without donald trump because of the adult survivors act, which was signed into law by kathy hochul, which was a result of the me too movement. so you are actually seeing that trump kind of did this to himself in a way. there used to be a statute of limitation on comes like this. yes. this is a very important point. i do think that there is a sense that it is running on a
