good morning, everyone, it s sunday, july 5. i m liz kreutz. thanks for joining us. we have a lot to get to us with illegal fireworks and fires across the bay area. let s start with meteorologist lisa argen. hey, liz, good morning to you. we re starting out with haze and a little bit of sunshine. should be a nice afternoon. warmth returns to our inland valleys. you can see emeryville is a little hazy out there with high pressure overhead, little wind. temperatures are quite mild from the east bay to the peninsula, upper 60s to near 70. no sea breeze as of yet. the winds will pick up. we re looking at gusts near 30 miles an hour. look at the low 70s arriving in our east bay. today some changes at the coast as the winds pick up and create some gusty winds. we ll still be cool, just in the 60s there but climbing through the 00s to around 80 in the bay and low to mid-90s return inland. enjoy the day today if you like it warm. then we ll talk about that sea breeze kicking up, br

now it s just a matter of getting parents to sign on. i think many parents are afraid to bring their child back to child care facilities until the shelter-in-place order is lifted. also, many parents moved out of the city for this period of time. child care centers have been able to remain open for families of essential workers or children in vulnerable groups. this new government web portal lists all available centers. as more parents go back to work, at seabird, they said it s not their responsibility to check a parent s work status. we have availabilities. we would like our existing students to come back as soon as possible, as well as we open to the new students. so seabird told me they actually need about a dozen students to open this friday. so they re waiting to see if any parents are signing on. that just tells you that different providers have very specific circumstances to deal with before they can open, despite directives that they are allowed to open. am m
