⚾: Saturday Sweep! Noles Hold Off No. 9 Louisville

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State (22-13, 10-8 ACC) defeated No. 9 Louisville (24-11, 9-6 ACC) 10-9 on Saturday afternoon to sweep the series against the ACC Atlantic Division leaders.

Jordan Carrion continued his hot streak at the plate, finishing 4-for-4 with a go-ahead three-run home run in the fifth inning. He also had a season high three RBI and two runs scored.

Florida State used seven pitchers Saturday, with Wyatt Crowell (3-0) earning the win with 2.0 innings pitched. Ross Dunn earned the start – his ninth of the year – and allowed three runs.

Jackson Baumeister, Conner Whittaker, Davis Hare, Jonah Scolaro and Carson Montgomery also pitched for the Noles. Montgomery earned his first career save, entering with runners on first and second and proceeded to strike out both batters he faced.

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State (19-13) allowed just two hits and struck out 14 hitters in a 5-0 shutout victory against No. 23 Florida (21-12) Tuesday night at Dick Howser Stadium. Conner Whittaker (1-1) earned his first career win with 3.2 innings out of the bullpen. 2022 Baseball Media Center Jonah Scolaro took to the mound for his second career start for FSU, with his previous start also coming against the Gators in 2019. In 3.1 innings pitched, the senior struck out five Florida batters, a season high. Florida State scored all five runs in the first inning, highlighted by back-to-back home runs from Alex Toral and Brock Mathis. Brett Roberts, James Tibbs and Logan Lacey followed with singles for a 5-0 lead. Nick Pogue (1-2) lasted just 0.1 innings, allowing four runs on three hits. ⚾: Noles Host No. 9 Louisville Beginning Thursday

TALLAHASSEE – After a 5-0 win Tuesday against No. 23 Florida, Florida State will host No. 9 Louisville for a three-game series beginning Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Dick Howser Stadium.

The series is starting a day early to accommodate for the Easter weekend.

All three games will stream on ACC Network Extra, while Eric Luallen will provide radio coverage via 100.7 FM in Tallahassee or the FSU Gameday app nationwide.

⚾: Noles Even Series at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA – No. 20 Florida State (18-12, 7-7 ACC) outlasted Georgia Tech (20-12, 6-8) Saturday at Mac Nease Park, beating the Yellow Jackets 9-6 to even the weekend series. James Tibbs and Alex Toral both homered for the Seminoles, and Jonah Scolaro was perfect against five hitters to earn his third save of the season.

Tibbs hit a two-run home run that gave FSU the lead in the first inning, while Toral’s three-run blast gave FSU a 6-4 lead after Georgia Tech jumped in front in the fifth inning. Jaime Ferrer added a two-run single in the ninth inning that gave FSU a three-run lead.

Davis Hare (1-0) earned the win, allowing two runs in 2.2 innings in relief of Bryce Hubbart. Jonah Scolaro entered in the eighth inning with two runners on base and one out, but got out of that inning unscathed before working a perfect ninth.

Hubbart allowed four runs on seven hits in 4.2 innings of work.
