A Canada-wide shortage of tapioca pearls, otherwise known as boba , has impacted a local bubble tea shop after a huge container ship got stuck in Egypt s Suez Canal last month. Sweet Dreams Tea Shop owner Jin-Hee Song in Waterloo, says she is impacted by this shortage. Monday was delivery day at the shop and Song says they didn t receive the amount of tapioca they normally receive. We have something in mind still to make the drinks fun and we can creatively find something else, said Song. Yes, tapioca s important, but there are other things that we can do.
