Noles Continue Outdoor Season at USF

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field program will be competing at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, Fla., this Friday. The biggest group heading down to Tampa will be the men's sprints group. Amir Willis has led that group so far this season with three great performances to start the outdoor season. Willis leads the team in both the 100m dash (10.21) and the 200m dash (20.77). Willis is No

Nwanaga, Odiong Capture FSU All-Time Performances

Tallahassee, Fla. –  The Florida State track and field teams saw 12 personal best performances of Friday at FSU Relays at the Mike Long Track. Kelechi Nwanga and Edidiong Odiong contributed their career bests that were among the all-time top 10 performances in FSU history. Nwanaga led the Noles to a one-two finish in the women’s javelin in dominating fashion, measuring at 55.06m, edging her previous best of 54.93.  She still holds the second-best performance in FSU history but inched closer to the school record (55.59m) that was set back in 2018 by Lauri Paredes. Odiong crossed the line first in the women’s 100m with a career best time of 11.28, which now ties for seventh in FSU history. Her previous best was 11.37, set last year and just shy of the FSU all-time top 10. We had a really good day today, Head Coach Bob Braman said. We came into this meet expecting to get some regional qualifying marks, and we did that today with great performances by Kelechi Nwanaga and Sara Zabar

Florida State Finishes Tom Jones Invite With Unbelievable Performances

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –  The Florida State Track and Field team put on a show during day two of this year’s Tom Jones Memorial Invitational, which was highlighted by performances from Jo’Vaughn Martin and Trey Cunningham inside Percy Beard Track at James G. Pressly Stadium. “We had an unbelievable day today at the Tom Jones meet!” said Head Coach Bob Braman. “I’m so proud of how they dealt with 2 days of rain delays and kept their composure. And to then do so many things on the National level is incredible.” The most newsworthy of the Seminoles performances was Martin’s astonishing time of 9.94 in the men’s 100 meters. The Houston, Texas native not only recorded a personal best but also his time is currently the world lead, NCAA lead, ACC lead and No. 3 on FSU’s All-Time Top 10 list.
