Regina Red Sox release concept plans for proposed 3500-seat stadium on Dewdney Avenue


The team says this would be a state-of-the-art stadium with the Red Sox as the anchor tenant. It said the stadium could be used by other baseball teams and leagues, and for festivals, concerts, flea markets and movie nights. 
The club said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Living Sky Sports and Entertainment Inc., which will help with the financial aspects of the stadium s concept plans. 
It said it expects the project to cost about $20 million to $25 million. The club would put in about $5 million and the rest would come from the city or other funds the city could access, said Alan Simpson. the president of Living Sky Sports.  ....

Campaign donors for 2020 municipal election revealed

Campaign contributions and expenses for the 2020 municipal election have been disclosed in a report for council.
Under the city’s bylaw, candidates had to submit their disclosure forms by Feb. 8.
Mayoral candidates were allowed to spend up to $68,776 on their campaigns. Those running for council could spend up to $11,393.
The bylaw only requires the disclosure of donors who contribute more than $500 for a mayoral campaign and those who give more than $200 to a council candidate.

New Regina mayor led all candidates in expenses for 2020 municipal campaign

Mayor Sandra Masters spent the most on her 2020 municipal election campaign, according to data released by the City of Regina
Based on elections rules, all candidates from the 2020 Municipal election were required to share their expense forms from their campaigns.
During the 2020 election campaign, candidates for mayor could spend a maximum of $68,776, while candidates for councillor had a limit of $11,393.
Mayor Sandra Masters spent the most, $68,289.56, while receiving $67.891.36 in contributions. Former mayor Michael Fougere was the second highest spender, dolling out $64,047.21, while also raising $63,573.74.
The third highest spender was Jerry Flegel, who spent $52,986.35 and received $31,396.76, after leaving his councillor seat to try and run for mayor. ....
