good evening, trace. a real surprise to be sure. just four years ago, lori lightfoot win every word in the runoff and made history becoming the first black and openly gay female mayor and the city s history. he s on her way to becoming the first windy city mayor to his reelection in about 40 years. paul vallas, with more than 30 percentage points. he will advance the runoff. he was billed as a tough on crime candidate, and he also has the backing of the city police union. he s expected to face brandon johnson, the current county commissioner, former schoolteacher has the endorsement of the chicago teachers union, and as you see, just about 20% of the vote going his way. lori lightfoot, meanwhile, who famously tingled with the teachers union, came in third with just more than 16% of the vote. we will have a safe chicago. we will make chicago the safest city in america. Administration makes a stunning turn on border policy. We get new video of hundreds of migrants rushing the border overnight. We have developing news from pelican bay state prison where a large fight sent Prison Guards and inmates to the hospital. It began with two inmates and a group of other prisoners turned against the guards were trying to break up the fight. Eight Correctional Officers were hurt and six were treated at the hospital and released. The other two suffered significant injuries. During the fight five

New at 6 30, Union Pacific Railroad Police and Law Enforcement teamed up to talk about rail safety and public awareness. It follows accidents like this one earlier this month in richmond. Officers righting inside a train studied how people behaved at railroad crossings. They discussed the dangers of crossing on rail and transit tracks as well as what happens when people violate rail crossing laws. We have to make sure theyre crossing at the designated places and theyre not down the tracks also and trying to cut midtrack out of the area.
