Following a one-year break due to the pandemic, the Lady’s Slipper Festival returns to Huron County Nature Center May 30, marking the kickoff for the summer season at the center. “This year, 2021, will be the 20th anniversary of the Lady’s Slipper Festival, and the 80th anniversary of the protection of the land itself,” said Kathy Kent, president of the Huron County Nature Center board of directors. “The land was set aside by the county in 1941, and the Huron County Women’s Clubs oversaw the park until 1991, when the Huron County Nature Center was founded.” ....
