good afternoon, everyone. i m alison starling. general motors emerged from bankruptcy today earlier than expected. company executives promised it will not be business as usual and major changes are being made. but the work is far from over. here s a look at the next move. once the world s largest and most powerful auto maker, today gm announced a mix of good and challenging news. it emerged from bankruptcy this morning after a 40-day stay under court supervision, far sooner than anyone expected. i salute everyone who worked to bring general motors is far this fast. despite the tone, the plan includes cutting another four thousand jobs, four hundred and 50 for top executives. i pointed out, einstein s definition of insanity, doing the same thing and expecting a different result. the goal is to streamline the structure to be profitable again. it will still employ more than 90,000 of the u.s. and more than 200,000 worldwide but says it will be able to make money ....
