and wedding bells will ring in this kentucky county. even with a defiant clerk spending the night behind bars. news4 at 11 starts now. first tonight, d.c. fire and ems promising to get to the bottom of their response to a medical emergency involving a 5-month-old. that baby died. we don t know how or exactly when, but we do know that it was a d.c. fire truck that started taking him to the hospital because the first ambulance dispatched was seven miles away from the home on hillside road in southeast. news4 s jackie bensen is live with the investigation into how the boy died, and the fire/ems response. jackie? reporter: doreen, we re told his name is traquan. he is about 5 months old. it s not clear whether the chain of events led to or played a role in his death this afternoon. a woman who identified herself as the baby s aunt told news4 she came down stairs from her bedroom at the sound of a fire engine siren about 3:00 this afternoon. she says she saw her 5-month-

where a child is dead under serious circumstances. firefighters were forced to transport a young boy to the medical center. there was no ambulance available nearby. the boy died at the hospital. now the even is under investigation. we re live at engine company number 30 with the rest of this story. reporter: when the call came out for a critical medical emergency involving a small child today, it was firefighters from the station who are the first to respond. a dc fire and spokesperson said the closest ambulance was 7 miles away at the time. when firefighters get to the scene, this was on hillside road, within four minutes of receiving the dispatch call. the boy was no older than two, having some kind of severe medical emergency. they began advanced life- support treatment. meanwhile, dispatchers sent the ambulance from 7 miles away. and prince george s county was called for assistance. we were told there were no invalid told they were knowing glances there either. within
