Kpix 5 reporter Elizabeth Wenger is at the scene of a deadly house fire. Elizabeth, you just got new information about the toddler killed in the fire . Reporter we have confirmed that the toddler was a baby girl. 2. 5 years old. In addition what makes this so sad is that it sounds like this family was doing everything right. The fire chief confirms that they had working smoke detectors when the fire broke out. The smoke detectors went off. And still two people werent able to make it out alive. As you mentioned that 2. 5year old girl and her father were both killed. The mother was able to get out the back door. She is okay. The grandfather is in the hospital right now. He is in Critical Condition. So the fire broke out around 1 30 this morning.
