Kota Kinabalu: A 25-year-old woman was tentatively charged at the Magistrate’s Court here Friday with trafficking 150gm of syabu.
Nur Aqeelah Aina Farhana Abdul Rahim, who appeared before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles, was accused of committing the offence at 4pm on June 26 at the roadblock 2 area Jalan Sulaman, near here. 
However, no plea was recorded from Nur Aqeelah after the charge was read out to her, who was at the central lock up in Kepayan, via video conferencing.

Aqeelah was jointly charged with another accused Mohd Nor Zainal, 29, who was her husband, to the charge under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. The charge carries a punishment with either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes. ....

KOTA KINABALU, May 9 The Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office at the Sabah Federal Government Administration Complex here will be closed from tomorrow to May 17 for sanitisation.
Sabah MACC director S. Karunanithy said although the office is closed, operations will carry on as usual at the Prevention Sector office at Jalan Sulaman.

CMCO: Roasted wild boar seller slapped with RM50,000 compound

sinalau bakas (roasted wild boar) seller has been slapped with a RM50,000 fine for allegedly violating the conditional movement control order on Monday (April 26).
Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali (
pic) said police received a complaint from a resident close to the seller’s stall at Jalan Sulaman near here, claiming that the latter did not follow SOPs.
He said the complainant claimed that the seller, Rayner Longtin, 32, was allowing karaoke sessions late into the night and the activity had been going on for a while.
Hazani said more details will be released later.
On Longtin’s part, he claimed that he was already preparing to close his stall a little after 10pm but was waiting for a few other dine-in customers to finish their meals when policemen arrived. ....

Hazani in a press conference on Friday said the complaint received from the public on the non-compliance on Apr 26 was valid.
“Investigation found that there were karaoke activities that were held apart from selling liquor which was suspected to be contraband, he said.

KOTA KINABALU: A sinalau bakas (roasted wild boar) seller in Jalan Sulaman was fined RM50,000 recently for breaching the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the spread of Covid-19, said Sabah police commissioner, Datuk Hazani Ghazali.
He said that the compound issued to the seller was appropriate action and not made at will without discretion.
“The operation conducted on April 26 (Monday) was based on complaints received from the public, claiming that the stall often played loud music and karaoke until late at night and disturbed the peace of the public in the surrounding area. ....
