Closed. Now just one is closed. What is the latest update . We worked to get the toll booths open around 4 30 this morning. The major activity this weekend was cleaning up all the debris which poses a hazard to the travel public. We had to make sure it with us completely cleared up, then do the repairs to the other booths damaged. We were able to get that done in fairly short order, some Electrical Work and other things. High 50s. So prepare for a cooler day today. Jaclyn. A rough start to our thursday morning commute. This is in oakland. A fatal crash shut down the southbound direction of 880 right at 66th. And we do have a reporter out there, jackie ward on the scene, and she will have a live report coming up shortly. But in the meantime if you are typically a driver that takes 880 in the morning, southbound direction all lanes shut down at 66. You will need to use an alternate. Chpall traffic getting off at 66. Big rigs can use 580. Heres a live look at the crash. You can see a lot of activity. Traffic on the left corner of your screen you can see starting to be diverted off at 66. So a big backup. Avoid 880 if you can. Northbound we arent seeing delays. Traffic is moving along right at the limit. Another accident shut down 3 of 4 lanes on northbound 101 at palo alto. This crash happened about 3 a. M. And involves a fedex semi truck with two trailers and the sedan from chopper 5. The big rig with the trailers one of the trailers is tipped over. Its a mess here. A hispanic man was killed. The truck driver is on scene cooperating with authorities. We are waiting for a tow. This is a large scene that investigators are going over right now. When it comes to the load of big rigs that will affect the time of the closure. We already have units en route to pretty much bring the big rig back right side up and so we can expedited the opening. Debris where so theres a lot to clean up. Chp is directing traffic off the freeway so they can clear this scene as soon as possible. But again, they say it wont be open until 7 00 at the earliest. A few minutes ago we received a statement from fedex that says, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the tragic accident. Were still seeing those lingering, scattered showers. Very light to the north in novato. Then vallejo, looks like you may start to see it. I do want to point this out, as far as rain totals we saw. Since january 1st, for San Francisco, 3 1 2 inches of rain already. On average, we get over an inch since january 1st. So for this time of year, this definitely did send us well above what we normally should see. Oakland, since january 1st, saw about 3 1 2 inches of rain, bringing us about 2 inches above normal.
