The Good Life Center reopens March 15, 2021 on News BROOKSVILLE The Good Life Center at Forest Farm in Brooksville, the historic final homestead of back-to-the-landers Helen and Scott Nearing, will reopen to visitors for the 2021 season on Memorial Day with COVID-19 protocols in place. The homestead was closed in 2020. The Good Life Center’s 2021 resident stewards are Jack Ott and Jesse Dritz of Peak Island, who will cultivate the organic gardens, lead tours of the hand-built structures and grounds and teach the Nearings’ simple living strategies to the public this summer season at Forest Farm. Ott, a cheesemaker and farmer, is the son of a baker and a chef. Jesse Dritz, a Ph.D. candidate in the American and New England Studies program at Boston University, is a native of Maine who focuses her studies on Maine photography and the way that photographs shape our sense of place. ....
