The appeal is part of the latest Cards for Kindness campaign which launches on Monday. Now in its fourth year, the scheme helps to tackle loneliness and isolation among the 11,000 people living in Lancashire s care homes. Receiving these postcards helps to promote a feeling of connection to the community and initiates conversations about the landmarks among residents bringing back happy memories. Research shows these conversations have health benefits, particularly for those with dementia. With travel abroad limited, this year s campaign focusses on local landmarks and beauty spot scenes including Blackpool Tower, the Lake District, the Pennine Lancashire moors and Darwen Tower. ....
