'Caloy' almost stationary; habagat continues to bring heavy rains

(Image grabbed from PAGASA's Facebook page) MANILA - Tropical Depression Caloy remains almost stationary over the West Philippine Sea, but the southwest monsoon (habagat) that it enhances will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains over parts of Luzon. "No tropical cyclone wind signal was hoisted on any part of the country, but 'Caloy' will continue to enhance the habagat, and this will bring moderate to heavy rains in the next 24 hours," Raymond Ordinario of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in an update past 11 a.m. Wednesday. Moderate to heavy rains will continue to prevail over Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna. Light to moderate, with at times heavy rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, the rest of Mimaropa, Rizal, Tarlac, Pampanga, Aurora, Quezon, Ilocos Region, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas. PAGASA said scattered flooding an ....

3 weather systems to bring rain showers across PH Thursday

MANILA - Three weather systems affecting the country will continue to dampen most parts of the archipelago Thursday, the weather bureau said. Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the low pressure area (LPA), last tracked over the Sulu Sea and 255 kilometers south-southwest of Puerto Princesa City, would bring cloudy skies and rains across the country. However, the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. The shear line is also affecting most of the Visayas, bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Both the LPA and the shear line will dampen the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan. Flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains. Aurelio said the northeast monsoon or amihan is affecting most of Luzon and will bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Bicol Region, the rest of Mimaropa, Aurora, and Quezon. Fair weather to prevail over most of PH

MANILA - Generally fair weather will prevail over most parts of the country, although the weather bureau is monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) last tracked at 125 km. west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, a forecaster said on Saturday. "It (LPA) has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but this will bring rains over Palawan, especially over Kalayaan Islands," Grace Castaneda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, the rest of Mimaropa, the Visayas, and Mindanao will have generally fair weather, with isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms. "Take precautions against flooding, especially during severe thunderstorms," Castaneda said. Northern Luzon will have generally fair weather, with isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire archipelago. (PNA ....
