parents in the south bay want her out. the teacher says it was just a joke. nbc bay area cheryl hurd is with us. she is a popular teacher on campus, but she could lose her job over this. reporter: she could. and the tweets are eye-popping. the school district found out about it when a colleague reported it. and since then, parents, students, and even the police department are reacting tonight. the apparent twitter feed from newark memorial high school teacher krista hodges has put this school on the map, and not in a good way. her students are reacting. i think she definitely wasn t serious about it. anyone that knows the kind of teacher she, she kind of is very lighthearted. reporter: lighthearted is not how most people would describe the tweets coming from hodges. colleague copied the one seen on the stream between april and june and gave them to the school district. here are just a few. i already want to stab some kids. is that bad? another one said so happy to be do
the victim told police that he had $70,000 to be deposited when the robbers came up on him from behind and blocked him into this parking lot, parking spot, i should say. we re told there are a number of witnesses headed into the grocery store when those masked men opened fire. in the evening sun, you could see the busted out front window of the victim s minivan still sitting in the parking spot where he d been robbed and shot. the suspects waited for their victim in this lot for more than an hour and cameras captured them speeding off in this white minivan. all i seen was people running into the store as the shots were fired. reporter: taking cover? running into the store, yes, for safety. reporter: investigators tell us they got numerous 911 calls after 6:00. the store s parking lot was bustling when the 37-year-old victim and opwner of several nearby businesses pulled up. there were dozens of people in the parking lot. parking lot was almost completely full. rep
is in with the story. nanette, this is a notable night. reporter: well, it is for those who have been watching the two states carry this out. a field poll back in december found that 55% of californians asked supported the legalization of recreational pot. that s the first time the poll found a solid majority for the change. but the movement couldn t get its act together this year to take advantage of the momentum. the wait in washington state is finally over. 20 months after voters there approved the recreational use of marijuana, people can finally buy it. it s very liberating. i never thought i would see this in my lifetime, ever. reporter: washington now joins colorado in legalizing marijuana. california has definitely fallen behind. reporter: back in california, pot supporters are hard at work, trying to make the same happen here. they re surprised it s taking so long. california was the first. we were the leading edge of legalizing medical cannabis. and the
atlantic county along the ac expressw expressway. some small thunderstorms there. a new cluster of thunderstorms has developed and this moving toward cape may. this one should be near cape may by 11:08, wildwood, 1 1:12. these have just developed with heavy rain and a little bit of lightning. down in sussex county, we have a pretty good line of thunderstorms. this will be moving toward the delaware beaches very soon here. near long neck, seeing some heavy rain and also quite a bit of lightning. now, this whole line of storms has really weakened compared to earlier today. it s continuing to move offshore, but it really did cause a lot of wind damage as it moved through today. through our area, alone, we had just about 19 reports of wind damage. we could have had a little bit more than that, but again, the wind damage causing trees, downed power lines, and power outages. we ll talk more about the rest of tonight s weather and your morning planner coming up. now to more storm
