Hall Mountain Fire burning near US-Canadian border July 2, 2021 5:47 PM Matthew Kincanon Updated: BOUNDARY CO., Idaho Idaho Fire is responding to the Hall Mountain Fire burning in Boundary County, just one mile from the US/Canadian border. The Bonners Ferry Ranger District of Idaho Panhandle National Forests said the fire was detected at around noon on Friday, and is burning heavily timbered Subalpine Fir and dying Lodgepole Pine. They said five firebosses four large air tankers, three helicopters and an engine with five crew members, among other resources, are responding. The fire is reported to be around 30 acres. The Hall Mountain fire was detected on Thursday around 12:10 p.m. According to the U.S. Forest Service Idaho Panhandle National Forests, five Firebosses, four Large Air Tankers, three Helicopters, a lead plan, air attack, the Panhandle Hotshots, Panhandle Helitack, and an engine with a crew of five are currently fighting the fire. The fire is located approximately one mile from the U.S.-Canada border, it is burning in heavily timbered Subalpine Fir and dying Lodgepole Pine., according to the USFS. ....
