Newspaper s offices to move down the street this month Ames Tribune A father-and-sons partnership has purchased the Ames Tribune building and has plans to honor the historic structure while adding to the synergy of downtown Ames. Jerry Nelson, president of Nelson Electric Company, and his sons, Chris Nelson, vice president, and Matt Nelson, manager, have purchased the building located at 317 Fifth St. in downtown Ames. “We want to add our energy to the other neat things that are going on downtown the work at the Sheldon Munn that Dan Oh is doing, Noir bar opening up, the sidewalk repairs,” Chris Nelson said. “There are a lot of things happening downtown. The opportunity presented itself to play a bigger role in that, and we jumped on it.” ....
Boise State News April 1, 2021 Two pieces by Lily Lee, an associate professor in the Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies, will appear in the exhibition: Octogonal: The All Media Show at the Octagon Center for the Arts in Ames, Iowa. Juror Jenie Gao chose 41 works from 349 submissions by 134 artists. Gao also selected one of Lee’s works, “Iridescent Turkey Sticker on the Outside” for the Priscilla Sage Fiber Award sponsored by Haila Architecture, Structure and Planning.
