Boise State News May 11, 2021 This photo by Carrie Quinney features Lily Lee’s piece, A Shroud for Cora Carillo. This photo was taken at the actual site and almost 40 years to the day from when the body of Cora Carillo was found on March 1, 1981 by a motorist who had pulled off of Jack’s Valley road outside of Carson City Nevada to take photos of the mountain range. Carillo lived in Carson City at the time and worked as a cocktail waitress. Although she was identified, no solid leads were ever developed in her case. The Wilbur D. May Museum in Reno, Nevada is exhibiting “The Great Basin Murders,” handwoven memorial shrouds by Lily Lee, an associate professor in the Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies, with photographs by Carrie Quinney, photographer and multimedia coordinator in the College of Education. ....
Boise State News April 1, 2021 Two pieces by Lily Lee, an associate professor in the Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies, will appear in the exhibition: Octogonal: The All Media Show at the Octagon Center for the Arts in Ames, Iowa. Juror Jenie Gao chose 41 works from 349 submissions by 134 artists. Gao also selected one of Lee’s works, “Iridescent Turkey Sticker on the Outside” for the Priscilla Sage Fiber Award sponsored by Haila Architecture, Structure and Planning.
