Inside local newspapers at the beginning of April, readers will find a Blue Ribbon newsletter. Educational materials will be available online and through social media and posters will be distributed throughout the community in April. People are encouraged to wear a blue to show support for the awareness and prevention of child abuse.

Black Bear opens in the face of shutdown
Madras diner opens doors despite state mandates limiting restaurants only to takeout service
Monday, Dec. 28, the parking lot was full at the Madras Black Bear Diner, along with most of the booths and tables.
Many of the customers at those booths came to support owner Joe Davis in his stand against state restrictions. I don t believe the masks and restrictions are beneficial and they re hurting businesses unnecessarily, says Frank Wood, who came from Crooked River Ranch just for this occasion. These people have put their lives into these businesses and shouldn t be robbed of the opportunity to succeed.
