Vallejo girl earns recognition for school, community safety work The recognition comes as part of the AAA School Safety Patrol program. “I didn’t think I could help other people because I didn’t feel confident helping myself. Each interview I became a little less nervous and a little more confident. The other kids at my school started watching the videos and recognized me. I felt like a brave leader,” Ellie Page, a fifth-grader at Ione Elementary, said in a statement released Thursday by AAA Northern California. Page, Jocelyn Uribe-Perez, Greenleaf Elementary (Oakland), Giselle Barajas, Joaquin Miller Elementary (Oakland) and Daisy Casey, Martin Elementary (San Francisco) were the other students recognized.
