Five government hospitals and three private medical facilities in Delhi have been placed on "high alert" in preparation for the upcoming G20 Summit. The Delhi health department has formed 80 teams of doctors and nursing staff to serve the guests staying at hotels during the summit. Ambulances with advanced facilities have also been prepared, and 106 of them will remain on high alert 24/7. In case of any medical emergency, the ambulances will transport patients promptly to the hospital. Three private hospitals have been selected based on their proximity to the hotels where foreign guests will be staying.
The DCW has asked the MCD to provide details of toilets in which operating and maintaining agencies have been directed to use acid to clean the toilets, along with their contact document.
Despite the Supreme Court banning the over-the-counter sale of acid across the country in 2013, both the sale and use of acid is quite rampant in the national capital.
