Congress leaders led by Rahul Gandhi hit out at the authorities at the Delhi government-run G B Pant hospital and said language discrimination should end.
The hospital administration said that the circular was issued without their information after the controversy erupted over its specific notice that mentioned "serious actions" to be taken against anyone found speaking in other languages.
Delhi's GB Pant hospital has directed its nurses to communicate in English or Hindi or else they will face "serious action". Congress has termed the directive "violation of basic human rights" and "discriminatory".
