No. 18 Noles Set for NCAA XC Championships


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 18 Florida State women’s cross country team will be one of 31 teams lining up to compete in the 6K at the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships, which are being held at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The top Seminoles will be racing in their first cross country contest since the ACC Championships on Oct. 30, where FSU finished third with a total of 109 points.
The women’s 6K will start at 12:50 p.m. and the men’s 10K will follow at 1:40 p.m. Both races will be featured on ESPNU. Coverage of the event begins at 12:30 p.m. ....

Volleyball Defeats No. 14 Notre Dame in Comeback Thriller

(Seminoles.com) – For the second time in the spring season, Florida State Volleyball mounted a five-set comeback as it took down No. 14 Notre Dame in impressive fashion, 3-2 (21-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-16, 15-11), on Friday night at Tully Gym. The comeback victory extends FSU’s undefeated spring record to 8-0 and also builds its win streak to eight matches. It’s the program’s longest winning stretch since winning 10 straight in the 2015 season. ! Softball Falls To No. 2 Arizona, 1-0


Both teams combined for 22 strikeouts as the Seminoles recorded 13 between Caylan Arnold and Danielle Watson.
Arizona 1, Florida State 0
Caylan Arnold started and pitched 5.1 innings for the Noles in the circle as she allowed four hits and one run with a season-high 10 strikeouts. Arizona had not been struck out more than nine times in a game this season.
Danielle Watson entered in relief with one out in the sixth inning. She pitched 1.2 innings with one hit and no runs allowed to go with three strikeouts of her own.
After a trio of scoreless inning, Arizona scored the game’s only run in the top of the fourth. The Wildcats scored the run on a single by Sharlize Palacios to left-center scoring Isabella Dayton from second. ....

⚾: Noles Rally to Win Road Opener at No. 18 Virginia Tech


BLACKSBURG, Va. – Florida State (5-5, 3-4 ACC) scored all six runs over the last four innings to top No. 18 Virginia Tech, 6-4, at English Field Friday afternoon. Pinch-hitter Logan Lacey hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the Noles’ three-run eighth inning.
The Hokies (8-4, 4-3) led 3-0 through five innings against starting pitcher Parker Messick. Messick struck out seven batters and really settled down after a shaky first inning that included Gavin Cross’ solo home run.
The Noles chipped away late in the game, scoring in the sixth inning on Robby Martin’s RBI single. Reese Albert led off the seventh inning with a solo home run, his second of the year, to cut the deficit to 3-2. ....
