Caltrans crews are repaving stretches of the bridge and installing new electrical wiring. The project is estimated to cost 39 million. The east contra costa Fire Protection district closed the station and one in brent permanently. That means there are only 27 firefighters to protect 100,000 people over a huge area. 250 square miles. They are placed in a tough decision. They are being asked to do twice as much work now with half the amount of guys and very little support from the public or the community out here. Two out of three computer models that we usually agree with we like them got it wrong. The Weather Service looking at it said this is a bad storm. The one model that got it right, it was right on the money. Nothing really went wrong with the storm. Something went wrong with the models and so therefore, the model forecast because its garbage in garbage out.
