GE Aerospace to invest $30 million in Indian facility making aircraft engine parts

American Firm General Electric Aerospace (GE Aerospace), among the few aircraft engine makers in the world, has announced an investment of Rs. 240 crores or approximately $30 million in their existing Indian facility in Pune Maharashtra.  

Inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2015, the GE Aerospace factory produces components for commercial jet engines. These are supplied to GE’s global factories where they are used to assemble aircraft engine variants -G90, GEnx, GE 9X etc. ....

After India, Brazil inducts French-origin Scorpene Submarines

The Brazilian Navy inducted 'Humaita', the second Scorpene submarine that was built domestically, based on technology transfer from the French firm Naval Group. This is part of Brazil's ProSub programme that aims to enhance their Navy's submarine force with four new conventional (diesel-electric) Scorpene submarines and the development of an indigenous Nuclear-powered submarine.

In recent years, the French-origin Scorpene submarines have had many takers with the Indian Navy inducting six of them, and two each being added to the fleets of Malaysia and Chile.  ....
