about all of these football conferences back in the u.s., big 12 turning into the small 10 and the big 10 turning into the big 12. what is going on? that is really all about money. isn t it? well, that s why we have this for the second question. i mean, the bottom line of all of it, eight conferences for division i football. those two you mentioned, big 10 and big 12 have television contracts at the end of their cycl or . $7 billion total in television rights fees paid to these conferences. so all of the teams are playing conference musical chairs like they did five years ago when the last deal expired. so this is the first chapter in a very long book, though hasn t stopped yet. talk about it next week, new teams that moved. not just nebraska and colorado. interesting, though, that nebraska moves out. i mean, it leaves the rest of the big 12 conference kind of looking i would say from a fan s perspective, pretty sad.
