Humane Society of Monroe County continues to provide animal care By Tom Adamich I recently wrote about the good works of the Civic Improvement Society – the women’s organization that was active in Monroe from 1901 to 1914. One of their efforts was to plant the early seeds of what would become a humane society serving Monroe County’s needs to help animals and provide animal control services to Monroe County citizens.
