there is a ton of news, so let s get smarter. right now, the covid situation across this country is starting to feel a lot like it did in the early days. things are changing quickly with cases spiking dramatically and transmissions seemingly running wild. according to nbc news, the average number of daily cases is up more than 40% in the last month. but there is one critical difference from where we were last year. vaccines. and while more people are getting sick and testing positive, if you are vaccinated, so far, the omicron variant is pretty mild. that said, here in new york city, the rate of positive tests has doubled in the last week. there are restaurants here shutting down again, at least temporarily. testing lines are once again stretching as far as the eye can see. i want you to take a look at this video from miami. that is not last year, that is yesterday. and this video is from this morning. just a couple of blocks from here. all of these people are waiting i ....
