Police say someone was shot at a motel 6 in walnut creek today. It happened around 11 00 a. M. And shutdown several streets. There was a large Law Enforcement presence for most of the day at the motel on north main street between parkside drive and st. Louis road. No word on the condition of the victim. The incident is under investigation. Families of homicide victims are pleading to the public for help. They are hoping for new leads in those cases as well as a chance to save lives. Elissa harrington has more from these families about their message and also talking to Oakland Police. We are tired of burying our sons and daughters, which is our future but we want to live and not die. At an emotional news conference, families of homicide victims gathered to grieve together. Mothers held pictures of their kids killed by gun violence. This is my heart ripped out, every day. We have gotten through the overnight hours and the period with the potential for the most lightning there we have had a few Lightning Strikes across the bay area but not a lot. Most of it was in the Central Valley and the pacific. There is still rain. Look at the showers. Actually, there is more good news because it has been light rain. But when you start to get into the bands of yellow and orange, and into mendocino, that is an example of this lightning. That potential will stay with us until 10 00 this morning. Not to mention, the red flag warning is in effect until 5 00 this evening because of the wind that can still be an issue and there is the issue with that. We are not out of the woods yet but we have gotten through the worst part of the evening in terms of where we would have seen the potential for the most widespread issues with lightning.
