I think marcus thats because the markets was expecting and wall street was expecting this move and washington moved so quickly to fix it. Lets look at that number. The official number is 3, 283,000, the number of people filing for unemployment in the most recent week measured. That makes sense when you think about it. Of course, we expected that number. Look around you. The stores are closed. The restaurants are working at halfstaff. But the stimulus bill can ease that pain. Both sides got what they wanted. Democrats were able to get some supervision over some of the oversight of the money going to corporations. We got money to workers as well. Its going to be the Unemployment Benefits that are written into that bill that got expanded and extended that probably will help your family most. Restrictions to snap eligibility such as being enrolled more than half time, were temporarily lifted. But as more campuses reopen, more feed resources should become available. This is even more important for Many College Students who were nontraditional low income, or first generation students. They must meet other challenges while pursuing a degree like being a single parent, support independence, or working full time while attending class. Many students need to prioritize other Family Member needs over their own including food. So today we will hear from individuals and groups doing advocacy work on diversity campuses across the country. I believe we should be making a commitment to students who are doing everything they can to gain an education and achieve their goals. This issue of College Hunger is not new.
