it was a very busy night for firefighters in contra costa county. in fact, firefighters had their hands full with brush fires burning between bay point and brentwood. this is where a grass fire came close to an apartment complex at lone tree way. it may have been sparked by a remnants of a professional fireworks show that ended moments earlier. illegal fireworks have displaced four people in san jose. officials say a neighbor s fireworks landed in the backyard of a home just before 10:00 last night. it quickly started a two-alarm fire that spread to the fight. to the house. the back of the home suffered moderate damage. the flames were put out in about 25 minutes. oakland firefighters responded to another illegal fireworks fire on skyline boulevard. it was just before 10:00 when a vegetation fire broke out about 200 feet off the road. fire officials say bystanders confirmed the accidental blaze was started by fireworks. it grew to about a quarter acre but was very d ....

a helicopter. crews marching uphill there to try to get to this fire. we understand the smoke can be seen for miles throughout the east bay. people throughout the east bay able to see the smoke in the sky, and given how dry things are out there, this is a scary sight, given the oakland hills as well. there s a big fire that just happened just witnessed some fireworks going off, and the fire starting around then, and they were actively calling the fire department, and as we came back out of the trailhead the sunset trail the first fire truck was coming up the hill. we talked with another neighbor who said he heard what he thought was fireworks but didn t see anyone in the area. they tell us fire crews arrived within just a few minute minutes of the fit 9-1-1 calls. thing best fear the tinder dry conditions and they ve been trying to keep their homes clear of brush so make should-under there is no fuel to start a fire. residents remember the devastation of the oakla ....
started showing. as the groups of hikers left the park, they told others including nearby neighbors and joggers that they did hear and in some cases see fireworks in the area at the time. now, we did have the oakland fire department about this. they say at this point, they have their investigators in the park now trying to determine a cause of origin. oakland fire cannot confirm this is a fireworks related fire but hikers in the park say that is what happened. let me give you a few numbers. two alarms. they called in oakland fire and cal fire who brought in crews from as far away as marin county and a helicopter to knock the fire down. it is surrounded by homes in joaquin miller park. it has been contained at three acres. we spoke to a battalion chief and he says at this point, there is no danger. no damage to any homes. and as far as he knew, no injuries at all to any crews on the ground. we have some interviews with neighbors who actually talked to those hiker. we wil ....
