NRL game sees Lismore businesses score $350K

Many of Lismore s CBD small businesses enjoyed a massive boost to weekend trade thanks to the NRL s pre-season trial game between the Gold Coast Titans and the New Zealand Warriors at the recently upgraded Oakes Oval.
In the past few years the region has been through the wringer with floods, bushfires and COVID-19 to name a few of the challenges.
Lismore City Council s Manager of Economic Development Tina Irish estimates that the game bought in almost $350,000 into our local economy.
The council said tickets to the game sold out on Friday night with a reduced capacity of 4800 due to COVID-19. ....

Lismore’s CBD businesses enjoyed a massive boost to weekend trade thanks to the NRL’s pre-season trial game between the Gold Coast Titans and the New Zealand Warriors at the recently upgraded Oakes Oval.
Tickets to the game sold out on Friday night with a reduced capacity of 4800 due to COVID.
Lismore City Council’s Events Coordinator Leanne Clark said that demand for tickets was so strong that she could have sold thousands more had it not been for COVID restrictions.
After the nail-biting game, spectators poured into the city looking for food and drink. ....

Opinions are divided over an independent school s plans to expand into the Brown & Jolly building in Woodlark St in the Lismore CBD.
 
The Living School bought the landmark building for an undisclosed price and has revealed it plans to offer more enrolments up to Year 13 in the near future.
Having a K-13 coeducational offering at the heart of Lismore is a focus on reconnecting and engaging learners with a town, the school s conductor, John Stewart, said.
