live from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 10:00. new questions about safety tonight after two deadly crashes in one day on the same road less than mile apart. good evening, i m iain page. i m lucy noland. when it comes to getting drivers to slow down, police say their hands are tied. fox 29 s chris o connell is live along route 1 in upper darby tonight. this is clearly a dangerous situation. chris? reporter: lucy one of the most heavily traveled roads in delaware county, but lately, township line road has become one of the deadliest. two fatal crashes in less than 24 hours has local police here begging for help. it looks and sounds more like a race track. it s constant. um and down. people do fief tearing 60. reporter: from night to day it s all the same along township line road in upper darby. car after car they speed by the speedway gas station where you still see the evidence where motorcyclist was killed yesterday. it s almost like the b

live from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 10. still developing tonight, a neighborhood told it is too dangerous to go home. forced from their houses hours ago. schools even locked down. montgomery county neighborhood is on alert of course right now. good evening, i m lucy noland. i m iain page. this is all because of what s happening inside one home. fox 29 s shawnette wilson is live in franconia township where shawnette this started think afternoon? reporter: yeah, lucy and iain, it has been more than seven and a half hours since police were called here to this home. take look behind me. you can see the road that leads to that home which we re told is actually on a cul-de-sac at the end of the street. this road is still closed off as negotiators continue to try to make contact with the man. you have all these police activity shutting down the neighborhood it was kind of concerning. reporter: neighbors watch well into the night from their porc
rush hour train crash. they are still having a hard time get to go all the mangled wreckage tonight we re learning more about the engineer behind the controls when that train crashed. good evening, i m iain page. i m lucy noland. the engineer is 29 year new jersey transit veteran. he s out of the hospital tonight and talking with investigators and we now know 34-year-old fabiola bittar de kroon was the woman who died while she was waiting for the train. more than 100 others are injured though many of them are out of the hospital tonight. the train did not have positive train control. in fact, no nj transit trains have it. the transit agency has until december of 218 to install it on all of its trains. the investigation into the deadly tragedy is only just beginning. ntsb says there s work to do before its investigators can get a close look at the crash scene. chris o connell is live in hoboken, new jersey torque night. chris? reporter: iain, lucy, federal investigator
