Cash reward offered for information about July 2020 homicide in York City Updated 8:51 PM; A cash reward is being offered for information that helps York City detectives solve last summer’s homicide of Quinton Jamal Jacobs, police said. Jacobs, 31, of East Poplar Street in York City, was found dead about 12:40 a.m. July 30 in the 1000 block of East Market Street, according to police, who said he was shot while outside. Known as “Q,” Jacobs died of multiple gunshot wounds, the York County Coroner’s Office has said. Police issued a news release Wednesday saying, “We are asking for assistance so we may bring justice and closure to Q’s grieving family.” ....

Scott Perry has avoided trial by pleading guilty to a summary nontraffic offense. Mark S. Malinowski has “never been in trouble before in his whole life,” defense attorney Rick Robinson said, and simply “got caught up” in the heat of political rhetoric. Malinowski, 64, of Washington Township, appeared before Dillsburg-area District Judge Richard Thomas on Monday morning for a preliminary hearing on his third-degree misdemeanor charge of harassment. But senior deputy prosecutor Phoebe Yates told the judge that an agreement had been reached for Malinowski to plead guilty to the summary grading of that offense in exchange for the misdemeanor version being dropped. ....
69-year-old man sentenced for selling fatal dose of heroin to York woman Updated 10:10 PM; A 69-year-old York man has been sentenced to state prison for his role in selling heroin to a woman who overdosed and died from the drug in 2018. Peter Kenneth Lucas pleaded guilty in York County on Tuesday the first-degree felony of drug delivery resulting in death, court records state. As part of a negotiated plea agreement, he was sentenced to five to 15 years in prison and given credit for the 740 days he spent locked up awaiting the resolution of his criminal case, records state. Presiding Common Pleas Judge Harry M. Ness ordered Lucas to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and to comply with recommended counseling. ....
