More than half a Million People are without power after wind gusts approached 100 miles an hour overnight. Its really important that we get power restored as quickly as we can. Matthews eye is just off shore and moving parallel to the coast, meaning the powerful winds of the eye wall could impact hundreds of miles of shoreline while the storms flooding rains spread well inland. The weather is just starting to go downhill in northern florida and on the georgia coastline. Matthew is already a in haiti, hit hard by the storm earlier this week, the death toll is approaching 500. Here in florida, damage estimates are underway in towns south of the storm but forecasters say this may not be the last the state will see of matthew. It will transition to a category 2 we think somewhere around georgia maybe transitioning to a 1 as it pushes through the South Carolina coast and then does this big loop pushing back down toward the bahamas.
