Cms was notified of the unions intent to strike at 8 00 monday evening. Teachers were in the classroom the first day of school on monday but are working without a contract because that expired in july. And the district said they have made progress with the contracts and is disappointed about the unions decision to strike. They say theyre working to minimize the impact this will cleveland schools. According to the plain dealer, the Union President said if they strike, he still wants to continue to work with the district on a deal to allow for a Peaceful School year. And so far, we havent heard from this Teachers Union since making the authorization to strike, but theyre expected to release a statement later this morning and, of course, well keep you updated.
