Right now the strike seems to ontrol from our perspective. Were not aware of any significant c sll number of strikers. At the last count we see less than 150. Reporter now workers began hitting the picket lines after 6 00 at a dozen sites around the santa clara county. Were told they are picketing in shifts. These folks were picketing in front of the department of family and Children Services where they would question working. The 12,000 member union voted to authorize a strike working without a contract since june and they said they offered the workers a of 25 million package of pay raises and benefits over five years but the union is asking for more something he said may not be sustainable in a slowing economy but the workers say negotiations are stalled over staffing and services and working conditions.
