Livingstone Shire Council, in partnership with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, will conduct the burn on the corner of Brown Street and Hill Street. The burn will cover an area of about 4.75 hectares and is an integral part of Livingstone Shire Council’s Annual Hazard Reduction Program. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only Thousands of people are expected to attend Sunday’s Beef to Beach event at Emu Park after it was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19. The event is held annually and is part of Livingstone Shire’s official Queensland Day celebrations. The free family event is held from 12pm to 5pm at Bell Park and includes a number of Queensland themed activities, free rides, face painting and the annual Fruit Salad Eating Competition. Also joining the event this year is the live children’s show The Owl and the Pussycat. Come next month, the venue will be open to locals and tourists alike as a teahouse and a gift shop are in the works. The historic building was built in 1889 and is made of bricks from the brickworks which was formerly located on the site. The brickworks provided the bricks for many of the buildings in Quay and East Street and the Mater Hospital. It was the last brickworks in the city in 1930. ....

Mr Mullineaux got the name for the business from the town’s postcode - 4710. The old store was almost ready to go, but Mr Mullineaux knew he wanted to expand to a bigger location a couple of years down the track, so thought it best to take the leap now. ....
