Starting today a san jose intersection will be closed for nine months to allow work on the extension the valley. It will be completely closed to all vehicles and pedestrians. The closure will allow heavy equipment to begin digging a massive trench so the rail line could go below the intersection. They say it is the most complex phases of construction for the bart extinction to san joses area. We did work with the community to see if they were more willing to go a longer period of time in construction, and then keep the roadway open. Or do a full closure for nine months and we heard a resounding, lets close it, lets get it done. Bart service is expected to begin as early as fall of 2017.
