Most retail fertilizer prices continued to move lower in the third week of December 2022, with prices for seven of the eight major fertilizers down from last month. Potash was 5% less expensive compared to last month with an average price of $807 per ton. DTN designates a significant move as anything 5% or more.

2023 Potash Outlook Sees More Supply, Lower Prices

Much like the phosphorous outlook, the potash outlook in 2023 is mixed. Issues remain with some supply concerns from the Ukraine and Russia at war and perhaps some logistic concerns in the U.S. Demand destruction limited applications in 2022 and, with less demand, this situation could push potash prices lower in 2023.
