Fertilizer prices are mixed for the second week of September 2022. No fertilizers were up or down of any significance looking back to last month. Five of the eight major fertilizers were slightly lower compared to last month while the remaining three were slightly higher.
All retail fertilizers prices are lower for the fifth straight week. DAP led the way to the low side, down 5 percent compared to last month, with an average price of $952/ton. The remaining seven fertilizers, meanwhile, were just slightly less expensive.
Prices for retail fertilizers are lower for a fourth consecutive week. Anhydrous led the way, down 7% compared to last month, with an average price of $1,331 per ton. The remaining seven fertilizers were just slightly lower.
Gun shy after last fall s sudden rally in fertilizer prices, grain producers looking ahead to fall and spring applications for the 2023 crop may be willing to buy supplies earlier than usual.
