⚾️: Noles End Season With Series Win at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – Ben Barrett had three more hits Saturday, including his first career triple and a pair of RBI doubles, as Florida State wrapped its 2023 season with a 6-2 win at Louisville Saturday afternoon.

Barrett notched his second three-hit game of the weekend after hitting three singles Thursday night. The Orlando native wraps his freshman season hitting .359 with 16 runs, 21 RBI and 28 hits in just 21 games.

Conner Whittaker allowed two runs in 6.0 innings, and the Seminoles consistently got out of trouble thanks to spectacular defense. The Noles ended the fifth, seventh and eighth innings with a double play, and also turned one in the first inning. The four double plays tied a season high and were one shy of the school record.

After Louisville took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, FSU responded with a Cam Smith RBI single in the third. Jaime Ferrer gave FSU the lead in the fifth with a two-run double, his team-high 22nd of the year. Barrett� ....

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Freshman Titan Kamaka had a career-high five RBI to lead Florida State to a 7-3 victory over Kennesaw State Tuesday night in the home finale at Dick Howser Stadium. Kamaka had a pair of two-run doubles and a sacrifice fly in the first game between the programs.

Freshman Ryan Denison earned his second victory with two scoreless innings, relieving freshman starter Ben Barrett, who allowed one earned run in 4.0 innings. Brennen Oxford and Doug Kirkland pitched the final three innings, with Kirkland earning his fourth save of the year.

After the Owls took a 2-0 lead into the fifth inning, Kamaka plated FSU’s first run with a sacrifice fly, quickly followed by Cam Smith’s game-tying two-out RBI single. In the sixth, James Tibbs and Kamaka hit back-to-back doubles to make the score 5-2, and Kamaka added another two-run double in the bottom of the eighth to secure the victory.

⚾️: Williams' Walk-Off Beats No. 1 Wake

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Jordan Williams’ fourth hit of the season – and first at Dick Howser Stadium – was a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead FSU to a 4-3 win over No. 1 Wake Forest Sunday afternoon. The Noles rallied from a 3-0 deficit after six innings with three runs in the seventh and Williams’ RBI in the ninth.

The Seminoles used five pitchers to beat the Demon Deacons, with Jamie Arnold pitching a career-high 5.1 innings with six strikeouts. Andrew Armstrong pitched 2.1 innings with four strikeouts and just one hit, while Doug Kirkland  improved to 3-3 on the year by notching the final two outs in the top of the ninth.

After Wake Forest hit a two-run home run in the first inning – Brock Wilken’s 23rd of the year – neither team scored again until the Demon Deacons plated a run on a wild pitch in the sixth.

FSU’s first hit came in the bottom of that inning, but the FSU offense really came to life in the seventh, ....
