Cornut-Chauvinc Ready for NCAA Singles Tournament

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc will open the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship as the No. 7 national seed Monday at 10 a.m. at USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida. 

For Florida State in the 2023 ACC Tournament, Cornut-Chauvinc clinched the first-round victory over No. 64 Clemson with a victory on court one. Previously this season, Cornut-Chauvinc clinched a 4-3 victory over No. 44 Miami after defeating No. 51 Dan Martin in three sets.  

Cornut-Chauvinc led Florida State with 16 dual wins this spring while playing at No. 1. With 11 wins over nationally ranked opponents, Cornut-Chauvinc anchored Florida State’s singles lineup and ascended as high as No. 2 in the national singles rankings, earning the highest singles ranking in program history. 

Cornut-Chauvinc was a unanimous All-ACC first-team selection for singles and earned third-team all-conference honors for doubles alongside Joshua Dous-Karpenschif.  ....

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State men’s tennis had two players earn ALL-ACC recognition as Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc was voted first-team ALL-ACC for singles and Cornut-Chauvinc and Joshua Dous-Karpenschif earned third-team all-conference honors for doubles, it was announced Monday. Cornut-Chauvinc led Florida State with 16 dual wins this spring while playing at No. 1. With 11 wins over nationally ranked opponents, Cornut-Chauvinc anchored Florida State’s singles lineup and ascended as high as No. 2 in the national singles rankings, earning the highest singles ranking in program history. Some highlights from Cornut-Chauvinc’s record-setting season include a match-clinching victory in a 4-3 win over Miami and defeating the No. 1 overall player Ethan Quinn in straight sets in a 5-2 win over No. 7 Georgia. No. 17 Florida State Returns Home To Play Two Ranked ACC Matches

TALLAHASSEE – The 17th-ranked Florida State men’s tennis team resumes play Friday when it returns home to play No. 29 Louisville at 5:30 p.m at Scott Speicher Tennis Center. The Seminoles play No. 43 Notre Dame on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Florida State is led by junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc, who is the No. 4 singles player in the nation. Cornut-Chauvinc enters this weekend’s matches with a 9-2 record with five of those wins coming against ranked opponents.

Cornut-Chauvinc has won three weekly honors after winning ACC’s co-Player of the Week on January 31, his third weekly honor after earning Player of the Week and Doubles Pair of the Week on January 17.

Sophomores Maks Silagy and Joshua Dous-Karpenschif earned Florida State its fourth weekly award this season after earning ACC Doubles Pair of the Week on February 28.
