Seminoles Finish Season 20th in Final ITA Rankings

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State men’s tennis team concluded the 2022-2023 season ranked 20th in the final ITA Rankings. FSU ended the season with a 20-9 record.  The Seminoles earned their 24th bid to the NCAA Tournament and earned the 18th NCAA Tournament victory in program history with a 4-0 sweep of Baylor. In the ACC Tournament, Florida State defeated No. 55 Clemson and upset No. 14 North Carolina en route to an ACC Semifinal appearance and earned the program’s 28th and 29th ACC Tournament wins.  Florida State finished the season with two players in the ITA singles ranking.  Junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc ended the season ranked No. 8 in the ITA singles rankings. Cornut-Chauvinc led Florida State with 16 dual wins this spring while playing at No. 1. With 11 wins over nationally ranked opponents, Cornut-Chauvinc anchored Florida State’s singles lineup and ascended as high as No. 2 in the national singles rankings, earning the highest singles ranking in program

No. 17 Florida State Travels to Columbia for NCAA Tournament

TALLAHASSEE The No. 17 Florida State men's tennis team (19-8, 8-4) travels to play No. 44 Baylor (17-15, 2-3) for the second time this spring in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at 11 a.m. at Carolina Tennis Center. The Seminoles return to play in a NCAA Tournament match in Columbia, South Carolina for the first time since 1994 and will look for the first-ever program win in the NCAA Tournament over Baylor. FSU last saw the Bears in the NCAA Tournament in 2016, falling 4-3 in the first round. Florida State returns to the tournament with Rihane, Maks Silagy, Andreja Petrovic, Loris Pourroy, Alex Bulte, and Dous-Karpenschif all having NCAA championship experience. Florida State is led by Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc was named as the No. 7 seed in the NCAA singles Tournament on Tuesday and has a team-high 16 wins in dual matches this spring. Cornut-Chauvinc and Dous-Karpenschif are the No. 2 alternate for the NCAA doubles Tournament. The Seminoles compiled 10 ranked wins

Seminoles Preparing For NCAA Tournament

TALLAHASSEE The No. 17 Florida State men's tennis team is 19-8 and enters NCAA regionals fresh off an ACC Semifinals appearance last Saturday in Cary, N.C.   The NCAA selection show will be streamed live on NCAA.com on Monday, May 1st, with the men's tennis team selections beginning at 6:30 p.m. Singles and doubles selections for NCAA championships will be released on Tuesday. The last three rounds of the NCAA tournament will be played in Orlando, Fla at USTA National Campus.

No. 19 Florida State Travels to Play Last Two Matches Of Regular Season

TALLAHASSEE – The 19th-ranked Florida State men’s tennis team travels to play its last two regular season matches this week when it plays No. 16 North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tennis Club at 4:00 p.m. Friday. The Seminoles play No. 13 Duke at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.  The Seminoles, who are 17-5 on the season and 8-2 in conference play, enter the final weekend third in the ACC standings. Florida State is led by junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc, who is the No. 4 singles player in the nation. Cornut-Chauvinc enters this week’s match with a 14-3 record with nine of those wins coming against ranked opponents.  Joshua Dous-Karpenschif is one of five Seminoles with at least 10 wins this spring, posting a 13-2 record on the season, including a 7-0 record at No. 4 and a 3-0 record at No. 5. Dous-Karpenschif is currently on an 11-match unbeaten streak.  Youcef Rihane, ranked 115th nationally, is 12-5 and has beaten three nationally ranked players so far this year.
