I do want to show you whats going on behind me. Police are still conferring. There is a perimeter wrapped around the area as they continue to gather evidence from this townhouse. Now at this time we dont know what unit where this all took place but again police are still reviewing evidence at this time in the early stages of the investigation. As far as what happened here tonight were told a 33 year old man was watching an 11 year old boy at the time per his parents request and it was when he was putting a gun away inside his townhouse that that gun went off and struck the 11 year old boy in the upper body. Where exactly we do not know at this time. But again that gun struck the boy. That man immediately wrapped the boy up, rushed downstairs and raised him to joint base andrews where the police was then transported to Childrens Hospital and were told he is now fighting for his life tonight. The 33 y man is distraught. We are speaking with him now so we are very much in the early stages
Came across the horrific crash, he is comforted knowing that he did the best he could to try to save the officer. He was driving home with his family when he saw the mangled wreckage of the chp car and a red cadillac he saw a red that he saw racing on the speedway freeway moments earlier. He shared these pictures of the crash scene, the cadillac rear ended the Highway Patrol suv and they were parked on the on ramp, the officer sitting in the driver seat, was shaken and okay, but the other officer, the 33yearold was not. Andrew was unconscious at the time. There was no pulse. The vehicle was covered in gasoline so we wanted to abide standards and try to get amount of the car. He dragged him out of the car after a chp officer broke out the window, his wife rushed in to help. Was we got him out of the car we got them through the window and got him laid down to the ground and my wife started to do cpr right away. Despite their efforts he died on christmas eve.
